How to Stay Motivated and to Stay True to your Fitness Plan

It’s not easy to stick to a rigorous fitness plan and a clean, healthy diet. Even the most avid of fitness gurus, lose their motivation!

Staying on your fitness plan takes discipline and if you are feeling less determined than usual, here are some things you can do to get back on track.

Ask yourself why?

Why do you think you want to give up on your fitness goals? Are you too tired, sore or even bored? Maybe you aren’t seeing the results you have hoped for?

If you are too sore, it’s okay to take a day or two off. If you are bored, find another form of exercise that is different and fun.

The first step to getting back on that fitness bandwagon is to figure out why you are dreading your workouts. Then you can come up a solution to fix it!

Reevaluate your routine

Like we said, you may or may not be tired of your routine. Switch it up, by working out at different times. If you usually work out in the evening, try exercising in the morning.

If you are finding your recent work-outs to be a bit tedious, why not switch up your fitness activities. Try a new work-out class or join a local kickball team. Or even get some help from a professional, they can give you some more exercises to try.

If you aren’t seeking the results you want, a trainer will also be able to give you pointers on how to make a breakthrough.

Find a fitness buddy

Having someone to hold you accountable, while giving you a helping hand may be exactly what you need. It’s unlikely that you will miss that morning spin class, if you are meeting your friend.

And they don’t have to be on the same level either. Not to mention, working out with a friend makes it more fun!

Make time for other activities

Just because you are living a healthy lifestyle by eating right and staying active, doesn’t mean you have to cut out all of your vices.

Don’t completely deprive yourself of your favorite foods and activities. Make time for your friends. Have a beer or two once in a while. Having a cheat day is something to look forward to. Ultimately if you miss out on doing what you love, you will only feel unhappy and unfulfilled with your life. Then it will be much more difficult to stay motivated.
