Whether you have a consistently strong commitment to your fitness regimen or you get on exercise kicks every once in a while, everyone wants to see some results.

Are you frustrated because you aren’t achieving your health goals? Don’t give up! You may need to just change things up.

Here are some tips to make sure your dedication to sweating will pay off.

  1. Find the best time for you to work-out.

With busy schedules, it’s hard for people to even find the time to work-out. So, often you just have to squeeze it in before or after your day. Have you asked yourself if you would feel better working out at a different time? If you’re not a morning person, it will take a lot of commitment to do that work-out and you may not even be performing at your best. Mornings are not always better. Depending on your preference, you may love to have that jump start for your day or you may just want to just get over with. Test different times to see what really works for you.

  1. Are you working out enough?

How many times a week are you working out? It should be at least three times with some form of cardio activity. But, that doesn’t mean on off days, you should be sitting or lying around. Start going on more walks around the neighborhood or a local mall. Incorporate physical activities in your daily routine.

  1. Weight-train.

There’s a common misconception that if you weight train you will get muscular. This will sometimes detour exercisers, especially females, from weight training. But, this isn’t true. Women won’t bulk up after lifting heavy weights. Testosterone is responsible for those large muscles. Weight training will only tone your body. Keep in mind, fat won’t magically turn into muscle by heavy lifting. But, when you shed those pounds, you will look even more defined and toned.

  1. Keep track of what you are eating.

If your goal is to lose weight, more than half the battle will be what you are eating. You may think you are eating right, but when you take a closer look at the calories and nutrition information, you may be surprised. That’s why if you keep track of what you eat with an app like MyFitnessPal or CalorieCount you won’t underestimate what you are eating. You will also see what you are lacking in your diet.

  1. Keep it interesting.

It’s important for your fitness routine, to not feel like a routine. If you are getting bored with running on the treadmill, try a kickboxing or boot-camp class. Once you get bored of something, it only makes it more difficult to keep doing. So, mix it up! Try a physical activity you have always wanted to try like joining the local volleyball team. Make fitness something you look forward to.
